How to know Jesus personally

Some people make salvation seem so complex. But any time salvation is presented in the Bible it is presented in simple terms. Receiving eternal life can be as simple as ABC.

First is A: you must admit that you have sinned and turn to Jesus. Life doesn't change until we realize we are going in the wrong direction. The Bible calls this repentance. The Bible says, "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Rom 3:23). It goes on to say "There is none righteous, no, not one"(Rom 3:10). And Romans 6:23 points out, "For the wages of sin is death." To be a believer is to admit we are going in the wrong direction and turn to Jesus and repent from our sins.

Second is B: believe now. Today is the day of salvation. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) To believe is to place one's trust and confidence in Jesus. It is the acknowledgement that Jesus died for us, rose again, and that He alone can get us into heaven when we die. To believe isn't to know all the right facts about God. Satan knows all the right set of facts about God, and he even trembles from the name of Jesus, but he isn't going to be in Heaven. You can know all the right facts about God and still die in your sins. Yet the Bible says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Eph 2:8-9). Salvation is a gift from God. We can do nothing to earn or merit eternal life. The forgiveness of our sins is received through faith in Jesus and trusting in Him with our lives.

Third is C: we must confess Christ as our Lord. To confess Christ is to make a commitment to follow Him as your Lord and Savior. The Bible says in Romans Chapter 10 verse 9, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” It says in Romans 10:13, “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Have you called out to Jesus? Have you asked him to forgive you of your sins? If you desire to confess your sins and receive Him as Lord and Savior, I want to invite you to call out to God and He will save you.

Simply pray, “Lord Jesus I admit I have sinned and I repent of my sins and I turn to you in faith. I believe in you, Jesus, that you died on the cross for my sins that you rose again on the third day. I trust you for salvation. I confess you as my Lord and my Savior. And I commit my life to you from this day forward. Thank you for saving me. Fill me with your Holy Spirit that I might walk with you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.”
